How the Homie idea was born
It all started with a real problem experienced by real people. Here's our story, unfiltered.
2022
The trigger
Youssef, a first-year student at ENSIAS, spends 3 weeks searching for housing in Facebook groups full of scams. He misses his first weeks of classes.
2022
The meeting
He tells Adam, a second-year full-stack dev, about it. They realize hundreds of students go through the exact same struggle every school year.
2023
The prototype
During the January break, they code Homie's first prototype in 10 days. 50 listings, 3 universities, zero marketing — and already 200 sign-ups.
2023
The launch
Homie officially launches. In 6 months: 12 cities, 2,500 verified listings, 10,000 students housed. The go-to student platform in Tunisia.
